We have launched a new section of the LRTC website devoted to detailing cycling routes within Hardy County. These routes may be familiar to some of you who have ridden before in Hardy County, as they are typical training routes developed by Jay Moglia. Others are variants that stretch further north into the area of northern Hardy and southern Hampshire counties, which are my own home roads that I rode on growing up.
We have created an LRTC club account on RideWithGPS and will be creating and detailing the routes on that platform. Unlike Strava, RideWithGPS enables us to create Points of Interest in the routes for convenience stores, known water stops, and other sources of food and drinks–which are essential in planning unsupported rides in a sparsely populated area such as Hardy County. As we continue to build the routes section of our website, we plan to co-promote these routes with the Hardy County Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Lost River Barn.
There are only a few routes created so far, but my plan is to create several dozen more paved and gravel routes in the different regions of the county over the next few weeks. Please follow our club account for more information. Folks who join LRTC as a member through IMBA will be added to the LRTC RideWithGPS and gain access to some premium features only available to club members!
